About Us

Welcome to Omokoroa Pre-School. The aim of this page is to familiarise you with aspects of our centre and we encourage you to share in the care and education of your child/ren during their time with us.

Our Pre School Exists to provide quality education and care for all pre-school children

The programme acknowledges our dual cultural heritage with the Treaty of Waitangi and a multi cultural aspect to our teaching environment. A warm, welcoming, supportive environment that encourages a partnership with parents and family/whanau so they feel secure in the knowledge that their children are happy and well cared for as they pursue their tasks. Our Early Childcare Centre has two separate rooms: Infants and Toddlers Room 0 – 2 then our Pre School Room for 2 – 5 years. Each room has been designed to best meet the needs of children at their different ages and developmental stages. Each room has its own sleep area, and inside and outside play areas. Morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea are all provided.

What makes us different from Home Based Care?

Our indoor and outdoor environment is designed and build specifically to meet a child’s needs. All our staff are qualified with a Bachelor of ECE Education and our low ratios of 1-3 under twos and 1-5 over twos enable us to provide quality care at a personal level. We work with parents to ensure we provide a nurturing and educational programme where children are confident and competent life-long learners.

Communication
We encourage parents to read the notice board and any newsletters which will be displayed on Educa (our online portfolio), as this is our way of keeping you in touch with what is happening at our centre. Please feel free to talk to the teachers at any time about your child and their interest. We value the relationship with you as parents/whanau and respect the privilege of working with your child/ren. We look forward to developing strong reciprocal relationships with you and to contributing to your child’s development and learning.
